Digital inkjet printing technology works by applying an external force to the ink, causing it to be ejected through the nozzle onto the fabric to form a color spot.

Digital jet printing is a digital image of the jet technology, digital technology to control the nozzle spray or not, spray what color ink and the movement in the X Y direction, to ensure the formation of the required image and color on the surface of the fabric.

An important technical indicator of digital printing is the resolution (abbreviated dpi), which refers to the number of dots per inch. In inkjet printing, different substrates have different requirements for resolution.

In general, dpi is 180 ~ 360, the image has been clear. For the very fine image dpi to 360 ~ 720 can be.

After the resolution is increased, the nozzle’s spraying frequency and directional accuracy are required to be higher. The digital printing area of dyer without borders has also summarized some discussions about digital printing resolution.

The principle of jet printing.

1. continuous ink jet CIJ ( continuous Ink Jet)

The principle of continuous ink jet is to apply high-frequency shock pressure to the printing ink, so that the printing ink is sprayed out from the nozzle to form a uniform and continuous flow of micro-drops. The nozzle is equipped with an electric field that changes in synchronization with the photoelectric conversion signal of the graphic.

As the droplets continue to pass through the deflected electric field, the charged droplets are deflected by the electric field, while the uncharged droplets continue to fly in a straight line.

The droplets that are not charged continue to fly in a straight line and are not able to reach the substrate to be printed and are recovered by the collector. The charged droplets are ejected onto the substrate to be printed.

2. Drop on Demand (DOD)

On-demand jet printing system works when the need to print, the system applies high-frequency mechanical force to the color ink in the nozzle, electromagnetic thermal shock, so that the formation of tiny droplets from the nozzle spray, computer-controlled spray to the set pattern.

The most widely used on-demand inkjet technology is thermal inkjet technology, which relies on thermal pulsation to produce ink droplets, controlled by a computer to heat a resistive wire to a prescribed temperature, resulting in the vaporization of ink (mist) from the nozzle after the spray.

Another DOD technology is the piezoelectric injection system, that is, the computer-controlled imposition of a potential on the piezoelectric material, so that the piezoelectric material in the direction of the electric field to produce compression, in the vertical direction to produce expansion, so that the ink sprayed.

Inkjet printing requires not only high-precision nozzle technology, high-precision control technology, at the same time, requires a high purity, high concentration, high fastness, high stability of the ink to match, in order to have the value of use.
